Twin Trinity Media Announces Winners of ANGER Theme Accentuate Writers Short Story Contest
Twin Trinity Media announces the winners of the ANGER Theme Accentuate Writers Short Story Contest.
ODESSA, TX, June 16, 2010 /Texas PR News/ -- Twin Trinity Media, part of the Accentuate FAMILY of Author Services, announces the winners of the Accentuate Writers Short Story Contest with the theme ANGER. Writers competed to obtain a coveted place in the Expressions of Pain anthology, including a royalty contract, cash and merchandise prizes.
Derek Odom won first place in the contest with his entry, The Long Distance Betrayal. Other short story winners included Untethered, by Elizabeth Grace; Deadbeats, by Robert Arend; and Julie, by Margaret Staab.
In addition, four authors were selected to have their stories available for digital download on the Twin Trinity Media website. These entries included Anger, by Cathy Graham; Toby and Harry, by Joan H. Young; Pickled Eggs and Cats' Eyes, by Lisa Lee Smith; and Beyond the Street, by Melinda Murray.
Six poets also earned places in the Expressions of Pain anthology. These were Carol Ayer, Laurie Darroch-Meekis, Camden Eastman, Lisa Lee Smith, W. Ned Livingston and John H. Young.
Contestants' submissions were judged on use of theme, adherence to submission guidelines and quality of the story and writing. The Accentuate Writers Short Story Anthology and Poetry Contests, now in its third year, gives writers an opportunity to obtain critiques, a chance to win cash and merchandise prizes and a publishing contract. Anyone is eligible to enter the contests, but only the best work is included in the Accentuate Writers Anthologies.
The 2010 themes are part of the Expressions Series of anthologies for TTM, and the 2009 themes are part of the Elements Series of anthologies.
